Bullet Fails to Start Up

General Knowledge and Inspection

If the Bullet fails to boot, a Manual Bootload is advised. The list below describe the expected behavior in the Bullet boot sequence:

  1. All fans starts spinning at the maximum speed and then slows down a bit.
  2. The Front Panel lights up and shows a series of numbers on the Time/Info Panel. The number indicates some information, such as Induction Type, Serial Number, and Firmware version.
  3. The Bullet goes to Off Mode and announces "the Bullet is now ready".
  4. All fans stop or stay at optimum RPM.

If the Bullet fails to initiate the boot sequence, check the Bullet behavior following the list below:

  • No response at all: The Induction PCB Module might be damaged.
  • No readings on the Front Panel, but the fans are running at the maximum speed: The Bullet has lost its Firmware and requires a Manual Bootload.
  • ErC 0000/0001: The Control PCB Module and Induction PCB Module are having communication errors.

No Response

If the Bullet does not respond at all when the power cable is plugged in, the Induction PCB Module is likely shorted and damaged. Contact [email protected] or your reseller for further diagnosis.

Warning

Do not disassemble the Induction PCB Module. Taking apart the Induction PCB Module voids your warranty.

Potentially damaged Exhaust Fan Motor

If the fans are twitching or the USB light is flickering, the Exhaust Fan Motor is potentially shorting the Control PCB Module, preventing the Bullet from properly booting.

Follow the Exhaust Fan Motor replacement guide to remove the Exhaust Fan Motor, and then power up the Bullet to see if it successfully boots.

If the Bullet boots normally, replace the Exhaust Fan Motor. If the issue persists, replace the Induction PCB Module.

Manual Bootload

If the Bullet does not display any readings, and all fans run at the maximum speed, then the Bullet has lost its Firmware. Follow the steps below:

  1. Follow the Manual Bootload guide and see if the Bullet boots successfully.
  2. If the Manual Bootload has failed, follow the IBTS Fan replacement guide to access and unplug the IBTS Cable, then perform the Manual Bootload again.
  3. If the Manual Bootload still fails after step 2, contact [email protected] or your reseller for further diagnosis.

ErC 0000/0001

If the Time/Info Panel alternates between 0000 and 0001, follow the ErC 0000/0001 troubleshooting guide for further diagnosis.
